New Year Or New You?

With the new year approaching and many people about to focus on their goals I thought I would share my thoughts and tips on how to be a better you not just for the new year but moving forward always.


Firstly, don’t wait until New Year to start on your goals - start today and get a head start.



I love the saying “A year from now you will be glad you started today”. And its very true. Look at where you were this time last year. Have you progressed? Are you fitter? Are you healthier? Are you wealthier? Are you more confident? Are you happier? Are you more at peace? Are you closer to your goals?


Asking yourself these types of questions is a good way to measure your progress. If you haven’t progressed and you feel stuck or have even gone backwards, then don’t worry because you can literally start today.


Ask your self where you would like to be this time next year? How do you look? How do you feel? What does your day look like? Even details such as how you dress, what you do in the mornings, what do you eat. If your unsure of these answers then ask yourself what does the best version of me look like, as in how does my life look? Then imagine this best version and then imagine what their life looks like. What do they do first thing in the morning. What do they eat? What do they do for work? Where do they live? How do they dress? What are their relationships like? What are their hobbies Etc.


When you have a clear vision of how your best version looks then you can start making moves towards becoming that. You can start by doing the things they would do. Acting as they would act. Speaking as they would speak. Dressing as they would dress. Forming the habits they would have and so on. When you make decisions ask yourself what would they do. Does this decision take me towards this version of myself or is it moving me away.

Having this clear goal of how you want your life to look is much better than making resolutions that you make every year and never stick to (i.e. going on a diet (again), joining a gym that you won’t stick too, or giving up whatever you think you should give up etc).


Just decide who your best self is and let that be your focus. Then all you need to do is commit to becoming that person. That is it.

 

How to:

So to do this just sit in silence without distraction and imagine how you ideal life looks. Visualise yourself and how you look, what you are wearing, what car you are driving, what does your house look like, walk around it, touch things, feel into the vision until you feel like you are there and you’re smiling and happy. Hold that version of you and that is your goal. One goal.

Now imagine a straight line from you now to that best version of you and make all your decisions with that in mind. Align with that vision. And move towards it. Once you start doing the things as though you were that person everything will start to shift in your favour and it will get easier. Just remember even if you mess up just put yourself back on that path that’s straight in front of you. Keep the vision there right in front of you and only move forward. Its as simple as that.

 

One goal – the best version of you.

One decision – to move towards it.

Massage Therapy

I came to see Sue after years of suffering with 2 slipped discs in the lower part of my back. I had a vasti treatment and I had the Ayurvedic massage with hot poultices and I have never had anything like that before and it was amazing. After the massage I felt completely relaxed and pain free and had the best nights sleep.

 I couldn't believe that even the next day I could still feel the result of the treatments. I also felt my mental health improve after the massage as I felt an instant state of calm and relief. I cant recommend Sue enough!
